The project "Production of Vegetables" from January 2022 began its activities in the Ton district, Issyk-Kul region
PF AVEP started implementation of the project “Vegetable Production” with the financial support of Seed Fund International. The Project improves food security by diversifying and increasing the availability of imported and local varieties of vegetables. Vocational lyceum and secondary schools integrate vegetable growing courses into their curricula. On the basis of a professional lyceum, secondary schools and farmer groups, the demonstration plots will be established. Students and farmers will develop knowledge and skills related to growing vegetables. Also, within the framework of the project, women's groups will be created in the villages and will be trained in the cultivation, processing and storage of vegetables. All beneficiaries will be provided with seeds of imported varieties of vegetables. This will lead to an increase in the quantity and variety of vegetables available to vocational students, secondary schools and the wider community. Experimentation and breeding of new varieties of vegetables, a set of best practices in vegetable growing for the conditions of the Issyk-Kul region contribute to innovation in agriculture.
Based on the criteria developed within the framework of the project, secondary school named after B. Mambetov in the village of Tort-Kul, secondary school named after Zhangaziyev in the village Kara-Koo, Vocational School №81 in Bokonbaev village, farmer groups in Eshperova and Shor-Bulak were selected.
